Nairobi, KENYA – Kenya commemorated a significant milestone with the ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) treaty. The treaty aims to ensure the availability of safe health products across Africa and boost local manufacturing capacities. The PPB CEO, Dr. F. M. Siyoi, represented by Dr. Wilfred Ochieng, Director Pharmacy Practice highlighted the importance of this achievement, emphasizing Africa’s commitment to providing high-quality health products. Kenya, a key pharmaceutical hub in the region, aims to enhance local production and streamline regulatory frameworks in alignment with its national health policies. The operationalization of AMA is expected to strengthen Kenya’s clinical trials, improve manufacturing standards, and position regulatory bodies on a global scale. The event saw the participation of diverse stakeholders, signaling broad support for healthcare advancements in Kenya.
