Nairobi, Kenya – A team from the World Bank paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB), Dr. F. M. Siyoi on 26th March 2025 to review the progress of the Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience Program (HEPPR).
The HEPPR program, implemented through the World Bank’s Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA), serves as a strategic framework to support countries in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from public health emergencies such as pandemics and epidemics.
The meeting also explored Kenya’s ongoing efforts to attain World Health Organization (WHO) Maturity Level 3 for regulatory systems, progress in local pharmaceutical manufacturing, and key areas where support is needed to further enhance capacity building within the sector.
