Brief description of the problem

Krishna Chemists Ltd has initiated a voluntary recall of GEMKIT (batch number 12173) following a discrepancy in the stated dosing frequency of Gemifloxacin 320 mg. According to the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), the medication is indicated to be taken twice daily, rather than the once-daily dosage.

Action for healthcare professionals

Quarantine all remaining stock and stop further distribution, sale, issuing, or use of batch 12173 immediately, and contact Krishna Chemists Ltd to arrange return.

Action for patients and caregivers

No further action is required by patients, as this is a Retail/hospital Pharmacy and Wholesaler/Distributor level recall.
