PPB Engages Industry Stakeholders on Regulatory Updates and Compliance

Nairobi, 26 May 2026 – The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) convened a stakeholder engagement meeting with representatives from the Kenya Association of Pharmaceutical Industry (KAPI) and the Medical Technology Industry Association of Kenya (MEDAK) to provide updates on key regulatory developments and strengthen compliance with regulatory requirements.

The meeting discussed a range of issues relating to the regulation of Health Products and Technologies (HPTs), including product registration, renewals, trade facilitation, and regulatory inspections. Participants also explored opportunities to enhance regulatory efficiency, strengthen compliance frameworks, and foster strategic partnerships that support timely access to quality, safe, and effective health products and technologies.

The engagement provided a platform for constructive dialogue between the regulator and industry stakeholders, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in advancing public health and strengthening Kenya’s regulatory environment.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ali Arale on behalf of the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, and was attended by KAPI Chairperson Dr. James Mokoro, MEDAK Chairperson Dr. Janki Chauhan, and other officials from the two industry associations.
