Kenya and Malawi Strengthen Pharmacovigilance Partnership, 29th July 2024
Nairobi, Kenya – In a significant step towards enhancing drug safety in the region, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) hosted a two-week knowledge-sharing visit from the Southern Region Pharmacovigilance Centre of Malawi, Kamuzu University of Health Science, from 15th to 26th July 2024.
As the Regional Centre of Regulatory Excellence for Pharmacovigilance in Africa, the PPB is committed to fostering collaboration among member states to improve patient safety through effective drug monitoring. The visit provided a platform for experts from both countries to exchange best practices and experiences in pharmacovigilance.
By strengthening the Kenya-Malawi partnership in this critical area, the two nations aim to enhance drug safety surveillance systems, leading to quicker identification and response to adverse drug reactions. This collaboration underscores the PPB’s dedication to promoting safe and effective medicines for the entire region.
