Brief description of the problem

Following Risk-Based Post-Market Surveillance Activities, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board sampled and tested Chlorpromazine 100 (Chlorpromazine Hcl) tablets Batch Numbers 83315 and 83863 and found that it did not meet the required specifications for the visual appearance whereby the tablets were observed to be capping. PPB has therefore mandated the recall of this product batches from the market.

Action for healthcare professionals

Quarantine all remaining stock and stop further distribution, sale, issuing, or use of Chlorpromazine 100 (Chlorpromazine Hcl) tablets Batch Numbers 83315 and 83863 immediately, and contact Laboratory and Allied Ltd to arrange return.

Action for patients and caregivers

Patients are advised to talk to their healthcare professional if they have the above batches of Chlorpromazine 100 tablets.
