NAIROBI, KENYA – Today, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) welcomed the new USAID Health Director, Bradley Cronk, alongside key representatives from the US Embassy, including Dr. Desmond William, Health Attaché, and a delegate from the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The high-level visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the two entities.

During the meeting, chaired by PPB Chief Executive Officer Dr. F. M. Siyoi, discussions centered on advancing Kenya’s goal of achieving the World Health Organization’s Maturity Level 3 status and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities for health products and technologies. Dr. Siyoi expressed deep gratitude for the continuous support from USAID, which has played a crucial role in improving PPB’s service delivery through capacity building and human resource development.

The meeting was also attended by PPB Chairman Dr. Charles Githinji, National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Chairman Dr. John Muturi, Acting Director-NQCL Dr. Mathew Kwena, and representatives from USP and the Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus (PQM+) program. This collaborative engagement underscores the strong partnership between the PPB and USAID in strengthening Kenya’s healthcare sector.
