PPB and Strathmore University Partner to Advance Regulatory Science and Innovation

Nairobi, 10th June 2026 – The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and Strathmore University today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in regulatory science, research, innovation, capacity building, and regulatory systems strengthening.

The MoU was signed by PPB Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed I. Mohamed and Strathmore University Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Prof. Izael Da Silva.

The partnership will focus on regulatory science training, joint research, local pharmaceutical manufacturing support, medication therapy management, innovation, knowledge management, and strengthening regulatory systems.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the two institutions reaffirmed their commitment to advancing regulatory excellence, promoting innovation, supporting regulatory compliance, and enhancing access to quality, safe, and effective health products and technologies.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen regulatory capacity, support evidence-based decision-making, and foster the translation of research and innovation into practical solutions that improve healthcare regulation and public health outcomes in Kenya.
