NAIROBI, Kenya – Today, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) hosted a delegation from the Republic of Burundi, led by Ambassador Evelyne Habonimana. Their visit aimed to gain insights into PPB’s regulatory functions and explore opportunities for bilateral collaboration, enhancing diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The discussions centered on PPB’s regulatory framework, focusing on critical areas such as product registration, import-export procedures, pharmacy practices, pharmacovigilance, post-marketing surveillance, and enforcement activities.

The delegation, including the Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Breeding Mr. Sanctus Niragira and Minister of Public Health and Fight against AIDS Mrs. Sylvie Nzeyimana, was received by PPB’s Director of Health Products and Technologies, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. F. M. Siyoi. During their visit, they also had the opportunity to tour the PPB Quality Control Laboratory and witness the advanced testing capabilities invested in by the Board.
